Mission Statement: TeaDBQ.orgs mission is to reach as many Tri-State area residents as possible regarding Americas Founding Fathers and Documents, the magic of free-market capitalism, individual liberty and responsibility, limited government and a return to all of these ideals. We are working toward less government spending, fiscal responsibility, and decreased taxation (or a complete replacement of the Federal Income Tax).
History: TeaDBQ.org is a grassroots group that formed after CNBC Financial Reporter, Rick Santelli, spoke out on the floor of the Chicago Board of Exchange about the federal governments bailout of irresponsible homeowners. Santelli spontaneously called for a modern day Tea Party in Chicago to protest the federal governments outlandish spending. He instantaneously became an Internet sensation.
The grassroots Tax Day Tea Party movement spread like wildfire across America. TeaDBQ.org formed when three strangers (Jeff Luecke, Carol Ross & Michael Heeren) met via the Internet and got together to plan the Dubuque, Iowa Tax Day Tea Party on April 15th, 2009. This small groups rally mushroomed to a few hundred Tri-State residents who joined together with hundreds of thousands of their fellow Americans at events across the country. It is the beginning of modern day revolution for a new Declaration of Independence from excessive government control.
Our Vision: We are up against incredible odds. Our society has been indoctrinated slowly, since about 1913 under President Woodrow Wilson, to accept socialistic programs and increased government intrusion. The main-stream media, academia and career politicians all have vested interests in gaining increased levels of power and control.
We ask for your help to do whatever we can to elect fiscal conservatives to local, state and national office. We support leaders who believe in free-market capitalism, limited government, a repeal of the welfare state, strong national security and a return to our Founding Fathers principles and values.
