I love your videos. I just found you the other day while looking for some banjo lessons because my father picked me up a five string and I am so glad you do what you do.

Fantastic Patrick,
Hopefully some day I will be able to cross the pond and spent some time at the retreat.
Your videos are the best on the net by far. The thing I love about them most is that they not only show you how to do it in a neat and easy way, your personality projects the passion of your music and makes me believe I can achieve more once I hit that musicians block.
I can assure you the inspiration you produce much outweighs your perspiration. :) Its much appreciated by all I'm sure!

The chorus, I think, is something called lilting, or mouth music. When the Brits took their instruments and banned their language, they made up ways to stand in for instrumentals, the words have no meaning, other than a filler, almost like Louis Armstrong's scat singing.

Hang on to that banjo- I re-enact and am into genealogy, pick just a little banjo, and would love to have anything from my g-g-g-grandndpa who fought. That's a true treasure to have. Good luck learning to play.
What is your tuning? - pretty much all I've learned is in G and your fretting on the strings is completely different?
