This is a great version of this song! I'm a huge Newgrass fan and these folks should be proud of what they did. It was a great choice for an a cappella arrangement! The female singer really nails the emotion of the song; I really think I like it better than the original!!!

hee, hee, hee. Fun to read the whole thread. Yep, Garth was a big New Grass Revival fan too. I still think he'd go for Cowan's Wichita Way if he heard it. We used to get amused by his recordings of their songs, because he'd hire them and then make like a front man. Well, at least on a couple of the ones he recorded.
A few months back, I actually sent Pat Flynn (the writer of this tune) an email in hopes that he sees what they did with the song...

@kentrothrock Thanks for that! I actually just did the same thing. I know it's a few years late, but I'd like him to be aware of our version - it's a wonderful song that has always inspired and empowered me, so I hope everyone enjoys it and checks out their original, which can't be topped.

Sounds to me like they heard the Cow do it. I'm impressed.

Thank you, and many thanks to the Cow (John Cowan) and all of New Grass Revival, the true inspiration for this arrangement.
No offense to Garth Brooks.

Pat Flynn wrote this song, not Garth Brooks. New Grass Revival originaly recorded this song. Garth Brooks did a remake of this song with New Grass Revival as guests on the recording
