  • I am taking a HUGE longshot, wrting a screenplay (I work in healthcare) about a Finnish soldier who served in the 1939-1940 Winter War against the Soviet Union. He's a tremendous hero over there, having killed 542 enemy soldiers in 98 days. If there is a director I could choose, it would be Michael Mann. Mann's work looks so seamless and the characters are so well rounded.

  • Cant wait to see what he does next.

  • he is from chicago?yet all his movies are deeply rooted in LA and he portraits it with such devotion.

  • michael mann is an magnificent director combines the stile of anthony mann, and raul walsh...!!!!

  • michael mann is an magnificent director combines the stile of anthony mann, and raul walsh...!!!! great great director with an unique stiyle!!!!!

  • @One7823 .....Scratch that my favorite Mann film is undoubtedly Ali.Will Smith was phenomenal as Ali.

  • I'm a huge Mann fan i love all of his films,TVseries.Fave Mann film would have to be Heat.Has the best gun fighting scene of all time, i could watch that scene all day long.I love his style, very unique and original, not much CGI crap in his films yet he delivers better vision, character depth and amazing storyline that beats most films made today.

I think Mann should consider directing a MacGyver film, he would be perfect.

  • give this man an oscar already!!!!!

  • public enemies was probably my favorite film from michael mann along with heat. when i saw heat, it was hard for me to understand the film. it was an alright film. but the robberies in both films were awesome.

  • I am a HUGE fan of his early work, like Thief and Manhunter. It really captures the mood of the time.
