Regina Spektor - Time is All Around (Sound Fix Record Store)

Recorded from Sound Fix Records in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, NY on April 19th, 2008. Regina had a free show and signing here for about 100 people on National Record Store Day. It was quite awesome to see her in a small venue like this again.

Three of the songs she played at Sound Fix (Time is All Around, Genius Next Door, The Wallet) made it on to her recently released "Far" album. It is was also a neat coincidence as she mentioned to everyone that she was working on a new album.

This song, as a studio recorded version, is also on the "Deluxe" version (Amazon.com and other retailers) and iTunes Special Edition version of the "Far" album.

I am so excited this song was studio recorded for "Far". Even though there already is an earlier studio recorded version of this song, I think a terrific job was done on the Far version...and in my opinion this is one of the quintessential Regina songs (but wait aren't they all? :P)

i dont mean to put in a stereotype but after being trained in classical music for a number of years I find that many of the students are more modest as they get older and more proficient. I admit i used to be conceited about my classical prowes when i was younger but when you're older you just feel more and more humble. Regina was a classical pianist herself, maybe it had the same effect on her? either way she's ultra kickass lol

this is one of my favorite songs! Ive listened to this more than usual lately! It just describes the situation I am in now in away and i always repeat the lines to myself. I'm so stubborn and find it hard to get close to the people i love and who love me and the line that goes:

Why am I suppose to love if I don't want to loveee! why am I suppose to? I'm so tired! Why am I suppose to if I don't want to. I DONT WANT TO. I DONT WANT TO!
