Barbara Bonney sings "Sul fil d'un soffio etesio" (Falstaff)

Barbara Bonney sings "Sul fil d'un soffio etesio" from the late verdian opera Falstaff.

"Falstaff" together with "Un Giorno di Regno, ossia il finto Stanislao" are the only buffo operas composed by Il Grande di Bussetto, Giuseppe Verdi. It might sound paradoxical but the gap among booth operas was of fifty three years (1840-1893)

In one hand Un Giorno di Regno meant an early Verdi trying to construct a career towards the success and in the other hand Falstaff belongs to the closing of the most successful career in the opera world. Bravo Maestro!!!

I particulary think that Barbara Bonney along with the great Maureen O'Flynn gives the most beautiful rendition of this well known aria.

My favourite rendition of this aria is Anna Moffo's, but I also like this and Mirella Freni's. Each one is splendid in a different way everytime.
