Apparently recorded a year or more before Hollow in Linlithgow. This song contains the first dive into adding additional noise - which you could say became a cindytalk trait.
It was very good of you to come - always loved it

Best moments: pressing a button on the reel to reel today and hearing this for the first time in years

  • Aha thats why it said pinktones on the tape box - completely forgot about that. Thought it was some reference to the skiffle band i played in after leaving cindytalk, couldnt remember their name either. Getting old, eyesights gone, no hair, deaf as a post from playing too much loud music in my youth and no memory

  • Glad you had do D* . Love it . r.

  • electronica at the tail end of punk,eh?very happy to hear this again,i don't have access to all my tapes at the moment.voice is a bit rough but the beat and synth melody are great.this was the first time i ever used live tv sounds through the mic,i think.what ever happened to alistair hearsham?

  • Another great find,cheers!

  • Hollow was recorded at Clarendon crescent in early 1982.i had moved back to Linlithgow whilst you finished up at university prior to us relocating to London. We recorded another track alongside Hollow, also with Alistair Hearsham on bass but i can't recall it's name.

  • Great to hear this again too.i disagree with your notes

on the time period of it's recording though.this was recorded along with another 4 pieces at the Vennel.i'm sure it was before i moved into Edinburgh so i'd say it was around 1979.i remember that project was on the outside of the Freeze and i always referred to it as Pinktones.one of the tracks,an instrumental was often used as intro music at Freeze gigs (when we needed a change from Nico's Frozen Warnings).
