The way Eva drags the beat on these lyrics is simply brilliant. It puts a tension on this song that makes you just hold your breath to see if she's going to synch up with the band at the end of the phrase--and she always does... A simply magical performance...

Thank God for the recordings from this Angel. She was really a phenom and left us way before her time. Missed and revered for many years to come. Loved everything she ever did and I was fortunate to have heard..

@rad0210 i havent heard eva or ella sing this , but after needing to learn it on trumpet i studied both. You have bias of ella as eva cassidy captures this song and rings its neck with way more bite than the old ella sorry mate.
