  • Hi Zero, great work you do. Question about the Mosfet. The IRFP064N is very hard to get here where i am to a reasoable price. would anypower mosfet work. i know i wont get the same output if i do.

  • You can substitute but the key parameters to look for are

RDS on <0.01 ohm. (IRFP064N is 0.008 ohm)

Current large enough tn meet your need.

Vds at least twice your operating voltage.

Comments yours really irritate me. The preferred vendor for my parts, Mouser Electronics, ships anywhere in the world. No one has any excuse to say I can't find it at a good price where I live. BS! I even go as far as to provide direct links to the product order pages from my parts list.

    WHAT'S THE PROBLEM???

  • It was not to waste your time i know your are busy....

the reason for my question is the price of shipping.... i only needed that part so paying 60 dollar in shipping was to much. thats why i wanted to replace it.

Hope you liked the reason. :)

  • $60??? Where do you live? Mars? :-)

  • Nope denmark :), anyway... since you are the cahmp at this subject. maybe you should look at modifying the pwm so it reverse the power at a certain interval.... i have noticed when changing the power direction the HHO production goes up for a while... just a thought you might could use... i am working a bit on it m yself and i will let you know if i get some interresting results myself.

  • Tried it, very early on, several configurations and switching rates. I won't be revisiting that experiment.
