[MORE AT: http://bit.ly/WeraRatchets] The unique pivoting head on these ratchets lock in five different positions for ease of use in tight spaces. (This also gives you five ratchets in one!) The ratchet function features a fine-pitched 72-tooth design for a precise 5° of movement. And special design creates 40% more torque than a standard ratchet.

This is an interesting design, but the rotating head must be locked on one of 3 positions.

  • @scalabration It is a great design! When you hold one of these things in your hand, the form factors are amazing. Just FYI, the pivoting head on these ratchets locks in five (5) positions... very usable in tight spots and across a wide range of angles. ~mike

Despite what Wera claims, it really locks in only 3 positions. Two are redundant because of the symmetry of the roto head design: flipping the head over results in the same position. I own one, so don't try and lecture me about the design or ergonomics of the tool. The ratchet effectively requires the head to be locked in one of the 3 positions, unlike other roto ratchets in which the head is allowed to rotate freely into whatever position provides the best access.

  • @scalabration Thank you for the feedback... I do see your point. Perhaps an improved design would feature different angles on the opposite side. I'll pass this one to their development team. ~mike

  • @lexichronicle2 I'm familiar with them.. just want to buy German made and not Chinese versions..

  • @CE750 You might not like them, but if you see a store selling Wera, you should check it out.

There are some goods ideas in the tools. The diamond tipped driver bits do last orders of magnitude longer than the normal ones.

  • It's usually a red flag when I hear something is "German Engineered"... that's usually code for made in China or maybe eastern Europe at best.... I'll keep my Snapon for now.

  • 2 words snap-on.
