The school more then likely closed because it was only a "middle school" and seeing as how those type of schools aren't used much anymore, there wasn't enough student.s The school is now used for police training from time to time, which could explain why the water is still on.

Why the hell would they leave the water running when it's the middle of winter? That part where you went into the water room creeped me out.
