27 Aug 1992 (Part 1) - (Continuing from 26 Aug 1992) Maureen continues to be annoyed with the silent treatment from Ross, Blake, and Ed. Ed suggests that Ross and Blake clue in Maureen, which Blake does after the okay from Ross. Maureen is stunned by the news. Later, alone after dinner, Ed explains to Maureen that Holly asked him not to tell anyone about Ross and Blake. Maureen worries Ed when she wonders whether Roger or the voters have a right to know about Ross and Blake. Maureen acts jealous about Holly being available (since Ross has chosen Blake) and going to Ed with her problems. At the Towers Club, Ross and Blake arrive for after-dinner drinks, but are unsettled when they see Holly also arrive, with Leo. Holly wants WSPR to stop favoring Ross and to give Leo more even coverage.

  • Question: Is the only reason that Ross dating Blake would be such a big deal to voters is her age or the fact that he used to date Holly? Cause I just don't see why it's such a HUGE deal. LOL

  • Yes to both. Ross isn't married so he's not cheating on his wife. The age difference was more obvious with Sherry, but there's supposed to be about 20 years between Bloss (which later got shortened to about 10-15). But I think the mother-daughter issue was supposed to be the bigger scandal. Holly will later equate it to the Woody/Mia/Soon-Yi situation, which was happening in real life at the same time as this story. Also, Ross the bachelor was supposed to appeal to women voters.

  • I must say this whole Blake/Ross/Roger/holly/senate sl was so well written everything about it was so good the acting was brilliant just all and all good story telling I think if soaps still told story's like this then they wouldn't have gotten canceled.

  • Seeing Maureen in your clips makes me miss her so much.

  • In my opinion, though it took sixteen years, Maureen Bauer's death was the begining of the end of GL.

  • its been 17 years since ive seen this, but when you see the bauer's house, it all comes back :)

  • God I miss Maureen Bauer...ditto for the kitchen :(

  • What Blossees said and the fact that Ross has such squeaky clean lifestyle and Blake has such a shady past. Past the fact that Blake is quite younger than Ross, and technically Ross and Holly were still dating, that would have caused a major scandal as well.

  • I totally love Mo's face! It's like "Dude! Seriously?"
