  • @reza4 - you have to be "joking"!You can't be yet another arrogant, insufferably ignorant, racist American .......! How dare you call the Nepalese tree monkeys, nor imply that the men are mercenaries. These men play the pipes because they admire the culture of the United Kingdom, not because they are paid by the British Government (they played magnificently at the Queen Mother's funeral). Do not confuse the actions of our misbegotten Government with the feelings of the British public.

  • @reza4 Gurkhas fight for the British not because they pay them (although that doesn't hurt), but because they respect them. The Gurkhas and the Brits have fought each other. They have come to respect each other because they find in their former enemies traits honorable traits. Traits like courage, honor, and loyalty. If you are willing to fight Gurkhas and win their respect then maybe they will fight for you. But you probably wouldn't survive the encounter.

  • It says a lot about the nature of the war when even the logistics regiments suffer casualties.

  • there is no better soldier than the gurkha. youre just not british if youre not proud of them. the only reason that twat is trying to insult them is because he's from america and is jealous.

  • @reza4 Id suggest you read up on some history - to the gurkhas the profession of a soldier is considered to be the highest. they were instrumental in coming to the aid of england several times - the world wars and the indian mutiny come to mind.. monetary benefit is one thing but the relationship between gurkha and englishman is far deeper than that. apart from that they are the finest soldiers in all the world and I wouldnt wanna be on the wrong side of any one of them..

  • if the taliban where hiring fighters and paid good money these tree monkey gurkas would be fighting for them it is a very low form of existance to kill for money what a shame they get treated like ass by U.K yet they still bend over for anyone who throws some crumbs to them

  • bcs is this peoples british rule asia for long time
