We raise thoroughbred race horses in Texas, so we couldn't wait to test the awe-factor of Britain's National Stud Farm, located 2 miles from Newmarket. The stud farm, showcase for British thoroughbred horse breeding, was originated in 1918 on 500 acres of prime pastureland, and I do mean prime. I thought our Texas horses were happy, but these British animals were in excellent spirits.

You got some lovely pictures there, looks like you had a great time.
I walk in a lot of mares to the National every year, it takes forever to get down to the covering barns! But it's certainly a lovely drive through the stud. We are only a couple of miles from there, next door to Darleys Dalham Hall stud, but only hold a more managable 70acres!
