There are predators - bad guys (and gals) that quite plan on their prey - whether it be specifically targeting certain individual(s), or certain one(s) that happen to come close within their grasp, or ones that happen to fit some pattern(s) or characteristic(s) they prey upon. Others are also much more the crime of opportunity, perhaps quite with certain characteristics the criminal seeks out. The crime may be highly premeditated and carefully planned, not at all, or most anything between.

I had always believed such acts were random but I don't anymore, This realization is so sickening and scary. One almost too hard to look at making it too easy to believe that such acts are random. But its a truth that needs to be said and heard by everyone. Thanks Pixie

My views on this have definitely changed as I got older. I used to think that it was always spontaneous and never pre meditated. But as I have got older I definitely have completely changed what I believe. I really do think that to some people there is something in them that to them this is normal, they plan these things, they work their way into the perfect position to carry out the acts. Thanks Pixie. I saw that same TV program, or one just like it. I remember with horror them casually talking about grooming. Maybe they don't start out planning to be totally evil, but they let themselves get consumed by the blackness of evil. The excuse they were addicted DOES NOT excuse. They were the person who chose to feed their mind with hideous material. They were the person who acted on the evil thoughts.
