@wenwu depends on the situation. the heel must be on the ground whenever you bridge. lifting or not lifting the heel during steps doesn't matter as long as the heel is on the ground to root your bridges. some dont lift on the step to make sure they're always ready to root, some lift so they step faster. whatever suits you.
how strict are you about raising the heel on the back foot during stepping, i have spoken to people who don;t thik it is a problem but also to people that state it should remain on the ground all the way through the step
