I know of a deaf woman who had the side of her face paralyzed from CI surgery.... so sign language is hard for her now..she is hard to understand..(CI failed also- couldn't do rest of surgery).

I got my CI surgery last summer. The operation was not bad at all. It unlike this vlog. I got cut about 2 inches on behind on my ear instead hair shaved. This is amazing technology than decade ago. I didn't get any sick, nausea, and headache after surgery. I am fluent in ASL. I'm still deaf and happy with CI.

lmfao! you are so stupid! I don't see her vlog say against parents' choices. she didn't judge! you are the one who start judge! dammit!
I've been wearing my CI for over 16 years, and I can't imagine my life without this wonderful device, as it has enabled me to communicate with hearing people with ease, as I can even talk on the phone with it. I don't believe the CI surgery to be that invasive. Have you heard of any deaths that result from the surgery? No. I'm sure you've watched the powerful documentary, "Sound and Fury." Although it takes time, it's all worth it in the end.

I am glad that you find it positive on your end. Unfortunately, not all share the same sentiment as you do. Yes, there have been 12 deaths relating to cis and the most recent one was 7 years old girl several years ago. Just that I felt that this kind of information on what ci surgery looks like should be shown in the film not hidden. Not everything is rosy when it comes to ci and the film did not expose the realities of side effects.

Yes I have seen the movie and know those people. I met the dad, Peter, in the past few months and he felt that without ASL, ci alone will not be as successful.

I add one more comment. You need to respect people's choice to get CI. You have to accept it! Don't judge on Deafblind parents. Just pray for them iif you're heart to them. Don't be judge or criticize on them.

Where in my vlog did I say anything about against parents' choices? I only talked about how this documentary is missing some information about CI that everyone deserves the whole truth so just butt out and you are no better judging me for something that I didn't even say anything about Deafblind or choices, geez!

Your vlog is suck! You're treat deaf children a brainwash about cochlear implant. You think Ci isn't fit for deafblind. That's not true! Deafblind need to hear not be isolate and dark. Just respect deaf triplets's parents decide not yours! I am tired this drama!!!

Whoa! I never said anything about that! Did you really understand what I am saying? My point is that Through Deaf Eyes did not show what a CI surgery looks like which is my feedback that it should be added for the public to see what it looks like. Many didn't realize a lot of layers needed to be cut. IHeck, I didn't even discuss anything about CI not fit for deafblind?? I don't appreciate you accusing me and bashing me about my own Deaf children. Just control yourself!
