Visité el Valle de los Caídos con mi grupo de AIFS. I visted the valley of the fallen and El Escorial with my entire AIFS group. I found the Valley of the Fallen to be a little disturbing after having a conversation with my Spanish teacher about what it means to the Spanish people. She has never visited the area because to her it was never meant to be a monument for those lost during the Spanish Civil War but instead a burial ground and a memorial to Franco.

El Escorial, on the other hand was interesting because royalty used to live there and it is still used as a private school and a monostary. No pictures were allowed to be taken inside.
