Full disclosure: The 2009 Audi Q7 3.0 TDI clean diesel we describe here doesn't yet exist — sort of.

Don't get us wrong. Audi is committed to selling an Audi Q7 3.0 TDI with the very same fuel-efficient clean diesel powertrain, and it affirms that the vehicle will appear in showrooms during 2009. But it isn't yet clear whether the first examples of the Audi Q7 TDI will be officially homologated as 2009 or 2010 models.

Ah, technicalities.

Not really. VW and Audi are kings with their W12 TDI engine, which produces more than 1000 Nm of torque under 1500 rpm. The VW Touareg with that engine can literally pull a Boeing 747. (Watch the Fifth gear video where they've done it)

the highlander is a compact suv, you cannot compare it to a fullsize Q7. Maybe a Tahoe, Expedition, Range Rover, or Land Cruiser.

i guess this is a joke cause here in germany there are plenty of v6 and v8 cars.. moreover, you've probably never heard a modern diesel engine by e. g. bmw.. they sound like a turbine and they produce very high torque. it's just those little 4cylinder diesels that sound like a mower

okay, i admit, the Q7 in this vid really isnt that good.. and when we talk about mileage, audi in general isnt as efficient as bmw
