Modernaires, great vocal group of Big Band Era (Miller), as well as the Pied Pipers, who were with Tommy Dorsey.

  • Could that be Ray Eberle singing "At last"? He was with the original Glenn Miller Orchestra in the early 1940s with Marion Hutton & The Modernaires

  • @Playedback You are correct. His Brother Bob was with Jimmy Dorsey singing a lot with Helen O'Connell

  • The original Modernaires were with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and the Pied Pipers were with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

  • Yes , I know all that, and never said any thing different.

  • This was the group that started it all. The Four Freshmen[ whom I adore] said that this was the group they emulated and many many groups followed the Freshmen.

  • This dates from 1962

  • @swinginkatz They were both great and thanks for the video.

  • From the early 60's. The group is not the pipers. They are the modernaires. Hal Dickinson , his wife Paula Kelly, Alan Colpand. I do not know the last 2 people. The group is still together called The Modernaires. Their daughter Paula Kelly Jr. heads the group. She is a sweetheart!!!

  • Magic & beautiful.
