@Musicenthusiasm Yes it is. End of story because you say so? ha I have studied this man and his work for a long time. I know what the Bass Of Doom looks and SOUNDS like. (Really? He played other basses? No way. *sigh*)

Actually, truebass is right( at least about the bass). This is not the bass of doom, but a different fretless bass Jaco used for his first tour with guitarist Bireli Lagrene. This clip is taken from one of their concerts.

I am spending an afternoon with Jaco thanks to the beauty of youtube. Compared to other performances I've seen of Jaco, it seems he may have been on lithium by this time. His demeanor is subdued but I agree with those who praise his playing on this video. Jaco could play better than ANYONE when he was of the mind to do so.
