Here is a little snippet of the "Plus" version of Defender. Defender Plus is basically the original Defender with some graphical and musical updates.
That's the great thing about the Jaguar's "2000" games -- you get at least 2 separate games in each cartridge. Usually, you'll get the original version, Plus and then 2000.
I like Defender Plus more than Defender 2000. It's much more playable.
Was Jeff trippin on Acid when he made this version ?

@DevilMaster - Except Jeff Minter was exclusive to Atari at the time. Personally, I think the over-sized ship in the Plus & 2000 modes is kinda comically annoying, but he kept the classic mode quite faithful (minus the 'stolen pixels' when things exploded). Other than that, it WAS cool, though hardly graphically earth-shattering. However, Atari never thought TEMPEST 2000 would get the attention it got a year or so earlier, so they kinda put their trust in Jeff Minter after that.

The 2000 version wasn't graphically impressive at all. The game came out in 1996, when the PS1 and Saturn were already out and showed much more graphically impressive games.

This looks like the game Jeff really wanted to make, with 2000 being the necessary "graphically impressive" version.
