Monday, Monday - The Mamas and The Papas

My rendition of The Mamas and The Papas only #1 hit, a 1966 release, written by lead singer, John Phillips. This folk-rock group, which disbanded far too soon, was also comprised by Holly Michelle Gilliam Phillips, a/k/a Michelle; Dennis Dougherty, and Cass Elliott (Mama Cass). John and Michelle (parents of Chynna Gilliam Phillips, who was a member of singing group, Wilson Phillips) wed in 1962. John Phillips was also the father of actress Mackenzie Phillips, who was a regular on the sitcom, One Day at a Time. MacKenzie was a regular character on the sitcom, "One Day at a Time". After the group broke up, Michelle became an actress, who performed in films and on the small screen - she was a cast member of the prime time soap opera, "Knots Landing". Michelle is the only surviving member of this outstanding folk rock group.
