Okay, firstly, no one really knows what happened between Gerard and Eliza. Cheating, engagements, whatever. None of our business. From all that I have gathered, Eliza and Alycia seem like decent people. The haters are generally those in love with the band and its members, and as such I feel bad for those attached to them because of people's obsessions.
I mean, to an extent, they all seem rather up-themselves, but I suppose that comes with fame.
