As you can probably guess from the song, this is about a woman (Lorelai/Rory) getting abused by her boyfriend/husband (Christopher/Dean), told from the veiw of her best friend (Luke/Jess). Basically, Rory is getting verbally abused by her high school boyfriend, and Jess is slowly starting to realize what's happening. When he finally figures it out, he gets really mad and gets into a fight with Dean. Later, (when they're all grown up) Rory (akay: Lorelai) is married to Dean (aka: Christopher) and he still abuses her. Jess (Aka: Luke) is still really upset, but doesn't want to stop being her friend because he knows she needs someone to support her. The ending doesn't really solve any problems, just leaves everything all depressed.
