Lumahai Beach is regarded by many as one of the most beautiful beaches world. It lacks a protective reef which causes frequent high surf and thus extremely dangerous water conditions. We spent our honeymoon out in Hawaii last week and captured this short film.
I love it!!!!!!!! Thanx

I went on my honeymoon to this island and on one beach there were signs every 20 feet or so saying basically DO NOT GO IN THE WATER. Well some old guy went in and barely made it out alive. Rescue had to be called.

Jusy use common sense. Do not go down to the beach when there are 30 foot waves. In the summer, it is likely to be flat and is my favorite beach on Kauai. Regarding cars, the rentals are the ones that are in danger, so beware!

I have been to Kauai twice and I don't think this beach is that bad. If you stay to the north the water is sheltered a little by the rocks and it's great. Never been beat up or stolen from.....

Don't go swimming in there unless you know how to navigate the rip tides, even on calm days. I was born and raised on Kauai and dived here a couple of times for fish. Nice place, but a few people have drowned there. Try to make friends with locals if you plan to go there, vandals unfortunately like to steal your items in the cars.
