Me conducting Jupiter with the University of Minnesota Campus Orchestra. This is another conducting symposium/clinic where I just simply got the chance to conduct.
I am a clarinetist who just graduated with a BA in Music degree. Please feel free to leave comments or suggestions about my conducting in this video.

There's really nothing wrong with what's going on musically here. The group is following him and gets to his downbeats just fine very shortly.

I love 1:50 where the beat starts slowing and by 2:00 the downbeat is on his upbeat. xD

nice overall technique! More Emotion especially conducting this piece would help the players. Some of the Parts Beginnings were a bit slow and later picked up motion and tempo.

The beats are too big. 1sts and 2nds are really struggling to keep up with your tempo.

Try to be less of a metronome. You got better in the hymn but mot of the time you just gave the basic beat and tempo. You need to put more of yourself into it.
Overall, nice stick technique I would say. There is potential in there. Just work on expressing more and actually interpreting the music for the players, not just counting rhythm for them.

i love how at the lento maestoso (7:50) half the high strings were kinda like "wtf?" and then after the presto everyone was like "wtf?" i love watching rehearsals. this was really good to see a video of this piece on youtube that isn't "perfect" helps show that everyone makes mistakes. overall, i loved this video. 5/5

So this is what the whole thing sounds like ... In grade 7, my (rather awful) school band did the segment from 3:22 - 5:18. I played clarinet and I have to say that I did excellent (compared to all my other band mates, which at the time, didn't practice at all) Good job with the conducting, no real concerns. 5/5
