Here is a video showcasing the speed difference between HD Remix at the default speed 2 setting vs the Japanese arcade Speed 3 and Speed 4 setting. HDR default speed 2 is amazingly faster than jap speed 3, which is the tournament standard. HDR is ALSO faster than speed 4 arcade, which is the fastest speed in the game

A REAL arcade board was used for this test. THIS IS NOT AN EMULATOR!

  • So what does this really mean? If you remember when Street Fighter 2 Turbo came out everyone was playing on the highest speed setting.

Maybe you will be able to adjust the speed in the actual version that comes out. Well since it's still in beta go tell Capcom.

  • This video was made, strictly for capcom. They already have this video. Street fighter 2 turbo: hyper fighting had no speed select in the arcade. And even then, it was NOT this fast. This is even faster than arcade super turbo at fastest setting, and thats FAST! The next slowest speed in the beta is world warrior speed, which is way too slow.

  • Its also nice how there's obviously no parallax scrolling in the HDR version . .

  • there is parallax scrolling in the background, its just not as intense as the original. It's much more noticeable when moving side to side

  • Cuz you can kick the other person's ass faster. =D

And if your reflexes can't match the speed, you'll lose of course =D

  • Seeing as how this video was added a while ago, I'm really interested to see how HDR's default speed stacks up now

I'm with you on the graphics and presentation though. I do prefer ST. Only real change that sticks out as dumb for me is Ryu's fake fireball (unneeded). Despite what people think of Sirlin, the goal was to buff the lower characters and nerf the higher ones, while keeping the general tiers intact, and I think he managed it. HDR is like a gateway. It doesn't really interest the ST crowd, but it brings in new players who have built up the skills to now play ST when they like.

HDR didn't split the player base, SFIV did. The ST players left for a bit to play HDR when it was new, but they are all back on GGPO now. ST is what they were used to, so ST is what they will play. Likewise HDR introduced a bunch of new players who wouldn't have got into it otherwise (who now also play ST). On the whole the changes were good, helped even up the matchups and reduced the mindlessness of some tactics (eg repeated walldives, ochio loops, Dictator being owned by ticks

  • HD remix- completely uneeded, split the player base, has some retarded changes, graphics are worse, total waste of time. david sirlin is an asshole

  • USA always makes modifications on the games, they should leave the games like they were originally created. Whats the point of their changes???

    For Example:

    1) The names of Bison, Balrog and Vega were changed in the american version.

    2) Gouki, Nash, Bulleta, Aulbath, Rockman,Lei Lei , etc... were changed for Akuma, Charlie, B.B.Hood, Rikuo, Megaman, HsienKo.

    3) The original name of the game resident evil its BIOHAZARD.

    What a mess!!

  • Why does the remix bob so much when people jump? It's distracting as hell.

  • This video of the beta caused Backbone and Capcom to fix the issue, it's fine now.

  • strange it also effects the time? at first you were only a nano second behind on the arcade machine then eventually upto 2 seconds...

  • wow thats pretty kool

    never knew it was faster

  • People are Tarded?? :O ?
