@IonAeon Yes I know, I have a lot of alts and often have the same problem when one reaches 80, most people don't take a "Main got achievement" either, and then there's guilds selling achievements......, main problem with GS is higher GS does not always mean the setup is best for you, Like how my iLvl200 trinket was more usefull than the 232-245 lying around, GS is just to show off your number and achievements are trophies, but they went from guidelines to requirements, nightmare to new players

@foguthix4life well I used to be in a guild that had an age req, but it was more because the chat could get pretty nasty ^^

The gs limit for guild recruitment is debatable, mostly it's something reasonable, it's not hard at all to get to 5k these days, but if they ask for like a bajillion gs it gets silly.

Honestly I find achievements a lot more annoying than gs. Moved to a new server recently and it was hell trying to get into raids. Managed to get decent gs, but "no achieve, no invite"

@IonAeon Yes I'm not trying to justify either side, when 8 out of 10 people screw up the chance of winning is quite low, I've seen fully geared Kingslayers screw up and fail in random heroics and at the same time remember clearing them with a full group of blues, I understand people like to see high gearscore numbers when inviting random people, but when I see guilds with GS and Age requirements I just sigh and facepalm (And those are not the cool skilled guilds)

@foguthix4life I am aware that they're not hoping to destroy gs. I meant that more for the commenters saying crap like "You'll shut the GS whores up yet."

Btw it seems to me like you're arguing with yourself, you basically said that with good gear people can still finish a raid when some people screw up. Since you really can't quickly tell if someone is skilled or not gs is the logical option people turn to. I don't like it anymore than you do, but it's just the way it is.

@IonAeon And note that Undergeared is not hoping for the destruction of GS they just want people to realise that you need to think beyond a number generated by a simple equipment addon.

@IonAeon Yes but what you just said pretty much points out why GS is pointless, Even if someone has 10k gs, if he screws up easy tactics he's still pulling your leg, Gear just provides room for error for the "better" players to still finish the encounter after said person fucks up, and that's pretty much the problem, people judge you by the number on your tooltip instead of if you know what you're doing.

I like what they're doing, but there's not a snowball's chance in hell that this will make gs stop. Doing this is slow and risky and most people in wow do not posess enough skills for this. My guild is running icc 10 with an average gs of 5300 with me being mt, I study tacs hard and nearly never fuck up, but many people can't get even the simplest tactics right. Everyone has dbm we have a capable raidleader, but people just keep screwing up. Gear gives room for error so GS is going nowhere :/
