Smoking Tree / Swarm of Flies - London, UK

You can't see it in the video really at all, but we were driving over a flyover by a sewage/waterworks outside London and spotted a tree with tall whisps of black smoke coming from the branches. It was so freaky, and on the way back home about 7 hours later it was still had some small clouds of smoke around it. When we got home I did some internet searching and discovered it was most likely thick swarms of flies or gnats, attracted to the water of the sewage works and treetops.

Unfortunately the video doesn't do it justice but our reactions kind of do! Never seen anything like it, it was freaky.
