Ristar Super Mode Entire Boss Rush

This is a video from one of my favorite games of all time, Ristar for the Sega Genesis. I'm playing the Boss Rush mode on the Super difficulty, possibly the hardest challenge in the game, because you have to beat every boss in succession without taking a hit.

It did take me a few retries to do this. The hard part was trying to do this in under 10 minutes; I ended up finishing with only a few seconds to spare on this run.

The video is taken from gameplay on Steve Snake's Fusion emulator (sorry, my Genesis is broken). Video was recorded with RenderSoft's free CamStudio, while audio was taken using Fusion's default .wav capture feature. Video and audio were joined using the very useful and free VirtualDub.

I'm a pretty new YouTube user, and this is my first video, so let me know if I need to fix anything.

i'm pretty sure that's Tool Assisted Speedrun..........and whatever u very very very lamely killed inonis i did that much better and didnt use slowdown at 0.25x :P and greedy too.............yep...........­.....

@robotnikkkk Why would I tool assist a game that's already had a VERY good TAS done by upthorn? I'm not sure if there's a video on Youtube, but it puts me (and any human player) to shame. Although I guess there's no proof, this was played in Fusion, which doesn't even support that stuff anyway. I also like how you think this video is so good it must be tool assisted, but so bad that you could do much better. :p

Simple, actually. Face left and grab upward to hit the pole, so when Ristar gets knocked "backward" it sends him right back into the pole.

hey did you know you can catch the blue orbs that the final boss throws at you? they give stars too, but kinda risky

That boss on the magma planet always gave me a hard time but only because I seriously sucked at positioning the way Ristar would grab. Up/down/left/right wasn't a problem but I was a retard with the diagonals.

LOL. I love how he changes his face to an angry one when fighting but during levels he's happy. :)

Kind of reminds me how on the first boss at least, Rayman gets scared of the Moskito guy. XD

I have never played this game before. I believe it is on the Sonic Ultimate Genesis collection. Funny it was included on that collection cause i had not heard of it until getting the disc. Oh well.
