Lighting collector Rick DeLair shows us his antique Christmas lights starting with 1916 edison lights and ending with 1940s and neon decorative lights. These lights are on display at the Edison Tech Center in Schenectady for a limited time.
When I was a kid ('50s), my great aunt and uncle decorated the family tree with a string that had ornaments for bulb envelopes; the bulbs were in the shape of houses, Santa, etc. The bulbs had the base at the top of the bulbs, so that they hung down from the string. They are long gone now and I have no idea where they went to.
