I have stocked up on lots of different kinds of lentil and chickpeas in big sacks from the Asian supermarket and,, to go with it, plenty of tinned tomatoes. It is very economical to make heaps of dhal. Tasty and very nutritious. The dried lentils are also a super long storage item.

...Portable toilet and liners/trash bags (especially if there is no place to dig a pit), hand-cranked clothes washer (good for one outfit, not too expensive online) and detergent, gas masks (civil unrest brings CS), pure alcohol (for trade, fortifying drinks, and medicinal purposes), space blankets (super cheap, can be a lifesaver), crank lantern and radio, camping shower, Faraday flashlight (charge by shaking), bicycle and supplies, hunting slingshot and marbles/bearings. ='[.]'=

Spare can opener, for sure! Dry cereals the kids like (for treats, not day to day); oatmeal (versatile and nutritious), pack of Duct Tape, cooking oil, vinegar and sauces, boullion cubes, baking powder/soda, cheap powdered drink mix (to make purified water palatable), UNSCENTED bleach (to purify water), baby wipes (in lieu of shower), extra toiletries (shampoo, razors, etc) for trade and use, chicken/vegetable broth, high-protein bars (can be divided) or powder, hydrogen peroxide...

If you can afford one, a small, manual grinder for flour is useful. The time may come when the miller controls flour production, again. That's a thumb you don't want to be under, especially if it comes to you growing some of your own grain. ='[.]'=

Great Video! I would add a water purifier Just in case fresh water becomes scarce. It is also easier to transport if you have to travel rather than transporting jugs of water. Thanks for posting the video. It gave me some good ideas.

p.s porridge is the only food you need....its got most things good for your body.....you can live on it for a long time .......unlike rabbit which is like only 2 weeks.........pulses if you got the fuel..
and gaffer tape is a must.......not for eating mind.
keep candles in freezer in newspaper and they will last longer burning. newspaper keeps them colder in freezer when power is cut.

Collect glass jars and bottles. They are good for storage and can be turned into weapons if needed. Collect seeds, for Tins will run out .
Buy an Air Rifle spring, not gas. steel wire for snares. get some netting for fish traps.
