This file was a sample that came with the program Vocal Writer, which only for Mac OS X. I have other better videos you can watch...
If you don't have access to OS X you're not missing anything; the program sucks hardcore.
Right now I'm looking into using a vocoder to record and and play real voices on a keyboard and/or midi software. You should think about that if you're interested in doing this.
