Introduction. This mashup of car ads was produced by Bob Rogers and Company and shown at AutoWorld in 1984-85. AutoWorld went bust, as seen in Roger & Me.
I remember seeing this at Autoworld when I was a kid. I loved the place, but my dad always complained about the price. We did make it there several time before it was closed. I even took my son there when they open for special occasions in the early 90s. You really need to be a car guy to really enjoy it. My father was a major gear head, and Im continuing the tradition.
How teu, we don't know what we got till it's gone... Classic old movie theaters & drive-in cinemas being demolished so they can make more parking lots and mini-malls. The the kids only cinema experience ends up being at a cheezy 12-plex showing the lateset H'wood junk. I saw Car of Your Dreams a lot in my youth, as it was part of the 16mm film collection at local public library and school system archives. Long live great TV spots!
How very sad that AutoWorld was not able to make it.Such a neat place it was, ranking right up there with the great places my parents took us when I was a kid. It was really great, and could have been made to work for the city or U of M Flint. Instead it was demolished, including the IMA Auditorium. Now the city talks about needing a larger auditorium.. Well, you idoits had one and blew it up in 1996 because it was old and "in the way". Great videos, thanks!!
