XBMC Tutorial 2: Directory and File Naming Conventions

To get the most out of XBMC one should name their movie folders and files in a way that XBMC can add those movies to its library. This video will show you how to set up those directories and files. @NightVision126 no you cant use it on xbox 360 yet only original xbox

Instead of changing the folder names and breaking the ability to seed (if the movies are torrents) you can just use XBMC Movie Helper which helps you find the right movie on IMDB and makes a .nfo file with it's IMDB ID in. XBMC will then read the .nfo file and find the right movie infomation for you. You can find the program here: forum. xbmc. org/ showthread. php?t=85194 (remove the spaces)

I didn't catch the reason to put every file in a directory.

I have my files in one directory without the subdirectory for each movie and they perform the same. What is the difference?
