This video serves as an introduction to a 15-minute station. Students investigate their touch by feeling six different objects. Then, they make "rubbings" of the objects using paper and wrapperless crayons, in order to make a visual representation of the feel of the objects. Students use "describing words" to describe the objects. Students will learn and/or practice: 1. What is means to touch. 2. To recognize observational descriptors from one of the five senses (touch). 3. To use observations to develop a descriptive vocabulary.
