hello sir, can we use the fasethernet cable and serial simultaneuosly on a router? i tried doing it but i got this error: 205-VM R1:unable to add binding for slot 1/0

You need to add the serial or fastEthernet module to the router before you launch it. You can do so by right clicking on the router before you start it, Configure, then click on 'Slots', then add the module you like. E is Ethernet, FE is FastEthernet, T is Serial modules and so on.
