  • Hi Ghostwatching, I love your channel! I am a huge fan of Elizabeth Siddal and just wanted to point out that the first two paintings in this video are incorrectly credited. The first is by John Everett Millais and the second although by Rossetti is posed for by Alexa Wilding, another red headed model and favourite of his.

Your collection of videos is brilliant and as well as scaring the heck out me also bring back some TV memories of my 1990's childhood. Thank you!

  • @TheChantillyBelles Thankyou for your comment, but the paintings in my video are just shown to illustrate various images of Lizzie Siddal and I didnt attribute them all to Rossetti, as obviously she was painted by many of the pre- raphaelite artists. All the Best.

  • Thank you for another wonderful video.Very interesting subject & beautiful images.

  • Alice in Wonderland was based on Alice Liddell. You are right though about Rosetti not treating her well

  • I love your channel

  • 0:14 it´s not lizzy, but great job.

  • Elisabeth was a real Artist, her poems, drawnings and paints are beautiful! I agree with"walkingbear," very good analyse;she was a typical romantic personality.

    Millais gives her immortality....

  • Gabriel was as moody and unpredictable as lover and then husband,as he was an artist. But Lizzie had a temper that could match his moods. She could be very shrew like if she wanted to be with him and manipulative ( we'd call her passive aggressive nowadays) ... I think they found each other equally difficult to live with, but impossible to live without, both having addictive personalities. His tipple was Chloral hydrate and whiskey.. equally toxic as Laudenum.

  • Actually, that painting (Ophelia) is by John Everett Millais. He was the one who had her in a bathtub. She caught a very severe cold because of that.

  • I really enjoy watching your videos. I wish we'd have stuff like this on Danish TV.

  • Another of your vids now in my favorites. This was very interesting. You'd love the latest house we're investigating...A Victorian on Cleveland's historic Franklin Blvd. Thanks, as always, for sharing high quality videos!

  • Thanks for another video!!
