  • @Cincoseis7777, And at least ASU will always have the Rose Bowl bragging rights! Something that the cats will never have.....

ASU has also beat UA more times in the last 50 years. In addition to that, ASU has 3 undefeated seasons. That's also something the cats will never have.....

I bet you feel inferior to ASU and their success!

  • @Cincoseis7777, Yes, and UA still hasn't reached a BCS bowl yet either.....and it still doesn't change the fact that UA is still the only PAC team left with no huge accomplishments.....

USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, UO, OSU, UW, WSU, and ASU all have had Rose Bowl appearances. Utah has 2 BCS bowl wins and Colorado has a national title. UA- still is left with nothing.

UA will always have the most embarrassing football program in the PAC!

  • @Cincoseis7777, I'm just saying that ASU's argument is more relevant because they've been a lot more competitive ever since their school has expanded to become a university! Also, because of the fact that they've made bigger accomplishments by earning big wins in their history just proves that we're more relevant! UA's argument is less relevant knowing that most of their wins in the rivalry resulted in beating easier competition and because UA has less wins over great teams than ASU does.....

  • @Cincoseis7777, 1953? ASU became a university in 1958. Yes, I know when the cup started, but most of the Territorial cups won by UA were over Tempe Normal and ASC......the point being is that those wins over Tempe normal and ASC are debatable because most of those wins were over a teachers' college (which shows that we were no competition back then)......ASU became much more competitive when they became a university.....

UA still failed to beat the actual ASU more times overall!

  • @Cincoseis7777, Wrong. It's 29-23-1,currently. So by your logic, nobody really cares about UA's debatable overall record either because that was in the past as well.....

I never said that ASU was a powerhouse......I said that ASU has the advantage over UA in football.....neither one of these schools are elite football programs, but that still doesn't change the fact that ASU has made more accomplishments than UA.....

  • @Cincoseis7777, Yeah, ASU's football program is not a powerhouse, but at least they have a great football history to look back on......(unlike UA who has a horrible football history)!

Also, ASU didn't have a choice of who they would get to play during their days in the WAC. It's still hard to go undefeated (even in an easier conference)! And ASU still had to play BYU! (BYU had good teams in the 70's).....

ASU also beat most of the very good teams in the big bowl games (like the Fiesta Bowl)!

  • @07bballking Cont: "Yeah, I banged the high school prom queen in the 70s." Yeah, well, that was 40 years ago and nobody cares. Only die hard ASU fans cling to the notion that they're still among footballs elite. Truth be told, ASU was never really considered legit. Also, the record is 29-24 now. If you're going to count wins from the Kush era, I'm going to count the ones from the time when ASU was ASCC. The cup is from 1899, not 1953 so I think that wins between 1899-1953 count.

  • @07bballking Hmm. So I guess all those titles that Yale and Harvard won in the 30s make them relevant still? ASU had a stretch of success in the 70s but that does not mean they're relevant anymore. ASU's never been to a BCS bowl before either... The BCS system was created in 1998. The last major win for ASU in a bowl was in 1987. Hardly a football powerhouse. While the UA hasn't done any better, we don't go around saying we're a football power. ASU is like that guy who never quite graduated HS.

  • @Cincoseis7777, Yeah, try more like "who has more conference titles ALL-TIME", u of gay fan! Everyone knows that UA's football program doesn't have nearly as many conference titles as ASU's football program does.....

Well regardless, at least ASU has been to the Rose Bowl (unlike UA)! Utah has never been to the Rose Bowl, but they still have 2 BCS bowl wins and Colorado has a national title.....so UA is still the only team in the PAC to never make a huge accomplishment in football......Lol!

  • @Cincoseis7777, The debate is not about who has done better ever since joining the PAC......the debate is about who is the better all-time team of the football rivalry and about who has the better football program between the two schools.....

Notice how UA doesn't lead the overall record vs. the actual ASU......their overall lead is against Tempe Normal and ASC. ASU is 29-23-1 vs. UA ever since ASU has been a university. ASU has also beat UA more times in the last 50 years.
