A few pictures that I have taken of the remaining air raid sirens left around Toronto , most were removed around 2000 2001.

  • you can still find these in eastern Montreal.

  • @zebra05 All over Iowa. The round ones are American. The squared ones are the Canadian model.

  • WOW!! a mobil directo alerttor!! great find the mobil directos are made of steel and the regulars are fiberglass

    you can tell its a mobil directo cause of the bar on the back ot the siren

  • so that's what the sirens sound like here in Ontario

  • @hootergirlsrhot The Difference between the sirens is that the Mobile Directo is a 10/12 port siren that was introduced in the 1940's and has a metal housing, while the Allertor is a 8/10, 9/12, and a 10/12 ( rare now ) port siren that was introduced in the 1960's and has a fiberglass housing.
