Rob announces his candidacy for the vacant seat in the First Congressional District of Oregon in a press conference on August 4th, 2011.
Cornilles announced his candidacy at Washington County-based Bioject Medical Technologies, Inc.
"Bioject is exactly the type of innovative, high-tech small business that Oregon's First District needs more of in order to bring good jobs back to the area. These companies and their current and prospective future employees need a strong advocate in Washington, DC," said Cornilles.
"If elected, the owners and employees of this small business, and those throughout Washington, Clatsop, Columbia, Yamhill, and Multnomah Counties, should fully expect that I will put all my energy and experience to work -- for them."
"If I'm elected, my words may be mine, but the thoughts and ideas forming those words will be from those who send me to Washington."
"I'm calling on voters today to raise their expectations of those they elect. Our Oregon heritage defined optimism and the pioneering spirit, and I submit to you today that I'm the person to deliver on the promise of Oregon."
