Vadodara-Ahmedabad: India's National Expressway 1 (5)

The 6-lane NE-1 connects Ahmedabad and Vadodara in Gujarat State. The distance of approx. 100 km. can be covered in an hour or so in daytime. Notice the colourful flowering shrubs planted along the divider. They say NE-1 is planned to be extended all the way up to Mumbai in Maharashtra State.

There are just two exits from the NE-1, at Nadiad and Anand.

We should first prove to the Govt that we can use such infrastructures with responsibility. I have seen many times that when the roads are this good, ppl just drive like lunatics testing max speed of their cars. Even a driver at the max speed limit on the right lane is often pressurized by drivers with vehicles of higher performance who would come bumper to bumper from behind honking or blinding with high beams forcing the guy up front to move to the left lane even when there is other traffic.
