@sekhmetrix Circumcision is so unnecessary. It's so sad that it's still done to baby boys. No, it doesn't prevent AIDS and HPV. Supposedly its the new cure all, but exactly how did all these circumcised men and women who slept with circumcised men in the US still get the STDs? It's painful for the little boy and he has no say so. Why do it anymore?

@12burgundy I chose to circumcise my son because my family is Jewish - I don't believe for a moment that it prevents AIDS or HPV. I agree that any health benefits are unproven, which is why we made the decision for cultural reasons. Also, I assure you, he got over it quickly enough...and besides, to quote Sex & The City, "no woman will ever call my son a sharpe!i".
