Hilltop Drive-In
1800 Maple Road
Joliet, IL 60432

Not the best video but video none the less of what was one of the last drive-In theaters in the Chicago area. Filmed Memorial Day weekend in 1991. Footage of the screen, concession stand, projector booth and various employees can be seen.

According to the link below the theater is reopening in April 2007

    good memories

  • What are you talking about we don't have an accent:)

  • What movie was playing? Do you remember?

  • I think it was Silence Of The Lambs. I could be wrong though.

  • Oh, those poor kids at the end in the jammies! LOL...they're probably all grown up by now, perhaps with kids of their own renting "Red Dragon." ((sigh)) Ah, well, how time flies...

  • Yes, scary to think they are adults now.

  • i miss hilltop...i still go there sometimes to hang out with our friends and throw stuff at the screen for fun...but with all due respect...sucks that it had to go under

  • Ahmazing....I recently just explored the Hilltop with a couple of friends and the poor place is standing but in miserable condition. It was very eery to go there and then view this video but awesome at the same time. We found a few old nick nacks and a real movie film reel! It was an awesome view from the 7 story Hilltop brick wall screen. Epic adventuring! Great video!

  • I just checked it out today. I live near by in lockport. Its sad to see it like this. I am only 14 but was wondering about saving up and trying to remodel the place. if carloscion uncle owns it then maybe i can like help out. I would make it cool and all with like sports fields in the back and the consesions and movie screen right there. I would put the sound threw radio instead on the poles. I know im young to do this but i just wanna help. I probably wont make a difference but i truly care.
