  • She meant extra-light olive oil. Extra Light! Or canola oil. Or sugar water.

Why not recommend it? It's safe, cheap, and painless. It worked for me, and it's easy for anyone to try. Costs about $5 for a bottle of extra light olive oil.

  • Obviously, she didn't do much thinking about this. And ... who is she to recomend or not recomend enythig a all?

  • ummm... aren't nutritionists the ones pushing for LESS creamy dressings and MORE olive oil on the salad?! Furthermore, EVOO consumption has positive effects on the human body. I might agree that the processing of ELOO may cause it to lose some of the benefits linked to EVOO, but in the grand scheme of things if it's potato chips vs. olive oil, I'll take the olive oil hands down! sheesh!

  • You are obviously not even educated on the proper theory of this diet, it's EXTRA LIGHT [tasting] OLIVE OIL, not extra virgin you stupid twat.

  • I too agree that a tablespoon of Canola Oil or Light olive oil isw not going to seriously impact colesterol levels in most adults.

  • A few tablespoons of light olive oil every day is not going to have any great effect on your cholesterol levels. Furthermore, you don't do it before eating a meal and you don't use Extra Virgin Olive Oil... that is very flavorful and defeats the purpose. It is not really a diet so it shouldn't be pushed in that way. It has a lot of sensible science behind it, really.
