Violence in Media

For my sociology course, I decided to do my seminar on school shootings, and why I feel violence in media does not provoke violence in society. This is the video that I made, showing examples of said violence. [CONTAINS VIOLENT CONTENT]
I'm also fully aware that some clips are off beat, and I forgot to put a movie in the credits. That has been fixed on the copy I'm showing to the class.

I love graphic violent action movies but i solve problems with words not fists and i always have. I even play graphic videogames. But im to soft to kill a bug. Media doesnt make society violent.

sorry, i just hate it when people blame the media for every possible ailment society goes thru. If anyone is to blame, it's the people who commit such acts. and yes i have tried yoga...it didnt really work out as i thought it would lol

I really don't think portrayals of fantasy violence necessarily promote actual violence - it depends completely on the viewer. But the rise in school shootings followed the rise of Doom, Mortal Kombat and slasher flicks, and angry parents wanted to blame everyone but themselves.

Humans are innately violent, but are torture porn movies like Saw really necessary? They certainly don't help anything.

you're an idiot, media does not provoke violence. violence has been around since the earth has been created. violence is basic instinct. cavemen, the dark ages, etc. they didnt have any media. but they all knew how to kill. media doesnt provoke a damn thing. media is just another way to entertain people and keep people occupied.
