Rip - I got to meet him and he signed by stuff and was even nice enough to take a picture with me. I went back to look at it this morning after I heard the news. Very sad indeed :(

The "emo" or "emocore" style of music in itself is not bad. Writing songs with emotion isn't new, heck, the Beatles did it! I just wish it had a different name so it would stop associating itsself with the emo subculture, which is for whiny little brats. Some of Weezer's songs may be considered emo (like Pinkerton), but the difference between Weezer and say, Panic at the Disco, is that Weezer doesn't use their emotion as a selling point they just write good, catchy rockin' songs.
