This project was shot at the site of the Olympic rowing venue of the 1996 Olympics, Lake Lanier, Georgia.
As we were in pre-pro, I had two lighting and color correction plans, one for a sunny day and one for a cloudy day. I was hoping for a cloudy day and this time Mother Nature cooperated. The cloudy day gave us a real smooth low contrast look that was very rich and the perfect texture for the cool blue tones that I wanted to represent Evian.
Unfortunately, the cloudy day also came with a lot of rain! We shot as fast as we could. The great thing about shooting on a lake with no waves is that you get ultra smooth dolly moves with no setup time! You just turn the boat around and go again. Very cool.
