The FN FAL was licence produced including the ammo, by Pro-Gaddafi countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe etc. There are millions of these around the world still brand new in boxes, as well as old equipment such as shown the M40 recoiless rifle. Any left in NATO inventories were destroyed/sold off decades ago.

Libyas embargo was 40 years constant, it was on-off, and this shows with the amount of French armoured vehicles from the 80's in pro-Gaddafi hands.

This guy is such a dumbass, Libya had an arms deal with FN back in 2006 to get more modern weapons to equip their troops. When the rebels started to rebel against Gaddalfi they attacked and raid armorys that belonged to the Gaddalfi, hence why they have newer looking weapons.
